Step 1. Enable OEM Unlocking
Without enabling OEM unlocking options, We can’t run fastboot commands.
for enabling OEM unlocking
goto -> Settings -> Developer options -> OEM unlocking (turn on)
for the developer option, you need to turn on the developer option from the setting. goto Settings -> about phone -> build number (press 5 to 8 times) to turn on developer option
Step 2: Boot your Oneplus 7 Pro into Fastboot Mode
The Fastboot tool can only interact with your phone for bootloader unlocking or flashing device partitions when it is in a special boot mode known as “Fastboot Mode”.
first, switch off your phone, then hold the Volume Up, Volume Down, and Power keys together to enter Fastboot Mode.
3. Setup Android SDK tools to your PC
In order to unlock the bootloader, you need Android SDK tools on your system.
Select and download the latest SDK Package for your OS
Extract the ZIP to get the platform tools. this folder contains ADB & fastboot tools.
4. Launch Powershell
- Go to C:adb folder where the ADB/Fastboot binaries are present.
- Press and hold the SHIFT key and do a right-click on an empty space inside the folder.
- Now Select ‘Open PowerShell window here.
5. Connect Your Oneplus 7 Pro phone to PC
Now you’re ready to unlock the bootloader in Oneplus 7 Pro phone. To start, connect your phone (while it is in Fastboot Mode) to your computer using a compatible USB cable.
To verify the connection, enter the following command in the PowerShell/Terminal:
fastboot devices
6.Now use fastboot command to unlock the bootloader
fastboot flashing unlock
Once the above command is Executed the phone should display a prompt on the screen. shown as below.
Now use Volume keys to Select Unlock the Bootloader and press the power key to confirm.
Your device will reboot and you are done!
You will also see the unlocked bootloader warning message during the initial boot process. This is a mandatory warning and completely normal.
